{"id":1918,"date":"2024-10-20T01:01:52","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tradenet.hk\/b2b\/bus-parade-exhibition-launched\/"},"modified":"2024-10-20T01:01:52","modified_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:01:52","slug":"bus-parade-exhibition-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tradenet.hk\/b2b\/bus-parade-exhibition-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Bus parade, exhibition launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.news.gov.hk\/eng\/2024\/10\/20241019\/20241019_122758_898\/images\/20241019135940674.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The Transport Department today launched a bus parade and exhibition in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People&#8217;s Republic of China.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event features buses from the past and present and is one of the highlights of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government&#8217;s National Day celebrations this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the kick-off ceremony this morning, Secretary for Transport &amp; Logistics Lam Sai-hung noted that bus services have long been an indispensable and important part of Hong Kong&#8217;s economy and people&#8217;s livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuses have not only met the travel needs of Hong Kong people every day, but have also witnessed the city&#8217;s developments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event marks the evolution of franchised buses in the city from the past to the present, engaging with the public to experience the crucial role of bus services in the public transport system, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The transport chief also highlighted that China\u2019s rapid development of new energy technologies in recent years has enriched Hong Kong&#8217;s choices of new energy public transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumerous electric double-decker buses and hydrogen fuel cell buses introduced into Hong Kong in the past few years were China-made models.
