Chief Executive John Lee today expressed his gratitude to the Legislative Council for passing the motion of thanks in respect of the Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr Lee said the Policy Address titled \u201cReform for Enhancing Development & Building Our Future Together\u201d proposes over 600 policy measures in various areas, deepening the reforms that he has introduced since he became Chief Executive.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It consolidates and enhances the factors for Hong Kong’s success while keeping our principles and being innovative in advancing reforms.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr Lee added that he proposed to consolidate the existing advantages of Hong Kong, present enhanced measures and explore new growth areas in this Policy Address to address the needs of Hong Kong people, while mapping the city\u2019s vision and long-term goals.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“This Policy Address combines the wisdom of the community and the Government’s planning, showing our hope to jointly build Hong Kong’s future.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He thanked LegCo members for offering their views on various measures in the Policy Address during the debate on the motion of thanks for three consecutive days.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr Lee especially appreciated the suggestions on various policy areas related to reform and embracing changes, harnessing the strengths of the “one country, two systems” principle, strengthening governance systems, consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong’s status as an international financial, shipping and trade centre, developing new quality productive forces, fostering economic diversification, taking forward the Northern Metropolis as the growth engine and deepening collaboration within the Greater Bay Area, and building Hong Kong into an international hub for high-calibre talent.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive said the Government will analyse and study the views so that the implementation of relevant measures can meet the public\u2019s needs and expectations.<\/p>\n

“My team and I will continue to exchange and communicate with LegCo through various means.
