{"id":2357,"date":"2024-11-22T01:01:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T17:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tradenet.hk\/b2b\/outstanding-civil-servants-lauded\/"},"modified":"2024-11-22T01:01:52","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T17:01:52","slug":"outstanding-civil-servants-lauded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tradenet.hk\/b2b\/outstanding-civil-servants-lauded\/","title":{"rendered":"Outstanding civil servants lauded"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.news.gov.hk\/eng\/2024\/11\/20241121\/20241121_191336_756\/images\/20241121202614182.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung today presented prizes at the Secretary for the Civil Service\u2019s Commendation Award &amp; Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Award Presentation <a>Ceremony<\/a>, which was also attended by Chief Executive John Lee who extended his congratulations to the award recipients.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year, 100 civil servants from 42 bureaus and departments across 51 grades received the Secretary for the Civil Service\u2019s Commendation Award.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a total of <a>14 civil service volunteer teams<\/a> and 337 individuals were awarded under the inaugural Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the ceremony, Mrs Yeung praised the awardees for their dedication to serving the public, whether through their work or volunteer service, which sets outstanding examples for the civil service.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She noted that the promulgation of the updated Civil Service Code in June outlines the core values that civil servants should uphold, including a passion for public service, dedication to duty, and being people-oriented, which are fully reflected in the achievements of the awardees of the commendation scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Yeung also pointed out that under the inaugural Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Scheme, civil servants\u2019 contribution to volunteer service will be recognised on a regular basis, further motivating more civil servants to take part in volunteer service and enabling the public to have a better understanding of the civil service\u2019s efforts in helping the needy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To better showcase to the public the accomplishments of civil servants and their dedication to serving the community, the bureau and Radio Television Hong Kong have jointly produced a 10-episode television series titled United to serve the community &#8211; Good stories of civil servants.
